The 3 ways that we see: With Eyes, With Reasoning and With Heart

Here at Tranquil Inside we focus on being mindful and that’s the path we want to go. But unless one knows there are other paths out there, one will never understand the why behind what we do. There are 3 ways that we see the world, and we grow according to what we see. We can see things and just move on, not putting in the effort in understanding how things work. We can also see things and dissect every little detail to reason how things are made and, We can see things with our heart, without having any prejudice because of our earlier experiences. Below, we’ll go through these 3 ways and what do they have to offer.

Seeing with eyes: Unconsidered Mindless way

One can roam around the whole world, see everything the world has to offer. And can still know nothing. One can also sit quietly in a small corner of the world and gather immense knowledge. When we see through our eyes and not perceive anything, It’s mindlessly looking at everything and never gaining or feeling the view/person/things in front of us. This makes a person shallow as he isn’t perceiving anything which is below the surface and even the details found in any object. When we do not notice anything, the things around us don’t affect us. We don’t get the pleasure of looking at an art piece. We can’t appreciate it, because we haven’t looked at what it was intended to be, what details the painter wanted to show us. What is the story behind something, How it was painted? We are unable to understand what may seem common to someone else to understand. We need to make an effort and look in more detail.

Seeing through Reasoning: The Intellectual way

One can look at the world through reasoning and one can understand what one sees. When you see with the reason you dissect everything, you will know how something was created, you’ll try to reason how someone created that piece of art, or how some created the building. But often when you see and try to dissect and find out how something works, you’re applying what you’ve learned before to a completely new situation. If you are judging something based on your previous experiences, you’ll not be able to learn something drastically new. And maybe you might get it wrong too. When we see the reason we use our previous experiences to judge something new. Suppose there are two shops which are selling Pizza. One shop looks very old and the other one is with the latest interiors when you see with prejudice and reason, you might find yourself going to the shop with the new interiors and shiny door. The other shop might serve the best Pizza in the world at a much lower cost. Seeing with reason might stop you from having new and better experiences.

Seeing through Heart: Perceiving without Prejudice

By removing the Prejudice in our mind when we see something new, have some new experience. We don’t have a premade lens that is built from our past. This lets us perceive more about the thing we are seeing or the experience we’re having. If you feel the breeze with reason, you won’t be able to enjoy it. Removing prejudice enhances our ability to feel things, it makes us more empathetic and lets us learn and perceive more. It increases the amazement that we feel when we look at things. We’re able to judge and know things as they are, rather than covering them up in something from our history and then judging them wrong. We’re more able to give something a chance then deny it. In a way this makes us learn and feel much more about life.
