Habits are like the self-made entities that hold the abilities to make us or break us.

If followed better and persistently, they can make us, ‘mentally strong’. If not they too can make us ‘strongly mental’.

What if I would question you, “Tell, me any habit of yours that has changed your life?”

Why it is necessary to cultivate good habits?

It is not so important to acquire good habits. What is important is the fact that we need to cultivate those acquired habits in life. Cultivation can alone lead to growth whether good or bad.

Acquiring good habits and cultivating them in life is like the reservation of a long term race.

So, here I am to tell you about seven habits that can change your life drastically, that too in an amazing way.

  • Try to acquire a single habit at one time. If you will be going to acquire the given below habits. Then, pay attention to practice only one habit at a time. Don’t try to acquire many at a time. If you will only mess up, acquiring the none.
  • Customize your habits according to your needs and standards. I cannot claim what worked for me will surely work for you too. Better understand your needs.

Develop optimistic thinking.

The greatest discovery of any generation is that human being can alter his life by altering his attitude.

Everything in life won’t be always great. But; you can choose to see even worse situations as great. And for that purpose, you need to build an optimistic attitude. You are the outcome of your attitude and thinking.

To read a book is equivalent to getting a new life lesson and experience. That too without experiencing it in your life. Something, magical happens when we read a book. We get involved with the character. We are happy in his joy, sad in his sorrow. No sooner his life becomes a lesson for us.

A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies…… The man who never reads lives only one.

In case, if you don’t like reading, then you haven’t read the right book yet. So, find your gig and develop a habit of reading from now.

Cultivate great relationships.

“Man is a social animal.” is a very true statement. Everything he does is defined and aggregated by his society.

 Human has an inherent desire to be close to other people. We as humans always search the happiness and support in others. It can be our family, friends, and relatives. And of course, relationships matter. 

Try to cultivate great relationships. Because money and fame cannot bring you long term happiness. Money and fame are things that exist today. Nobody knows whether they will be present tomorrow. To cultivate the great relationships we should tend to :

  • Listen to each other.
  • Respect and trust each other.
  • Be open without any judgment.  
  • Make some time for each other. 
  • Build a daily routine. 

The secret of our success lies in our daily routine. The ideal routine is any routine or ritual which you can perform without breaking your circadian rhythm and forcing yourself.

Your daily routine is something in which you can firm the roots of your productive habits. Believe me, this small change will change your life forever. A daily routine helps us to stay organized and focused. Also, it will help you to have control over your life.

Connect with nature. 

We human beings are largely influenced by our environment. When in close connection with nature, we can understand the cycle of the circadian rhythm of our body. Today, in the 21st century we are surrounded by technology. These surroundings are resulting in less exposure to nature.

Man has developed a perspective of inclination towards the environment. But; he should connect with nature, spend some time in solitude. 

How to connect with nature in busy surroundings? 

I know, we cannot go into a thick forest and on a sandy beach to avail of the beauty of nature. We, do not have that time. But; far more that is too an excuse. At least, you can see sunrise and sunset, enjoy the cool breeze from your terrace. That is too a form of connecting with nature. 

Nature is about balance and harmony. You will learn to live your life. You will enjoy each and every moment of life. 

Especially, teenagers should experience all the sunrises and sunsets in life. Jogg through your surroundings or in a park, meditate during the time of sunrise. Be in solitude during sunset. It will make you more happy and wise. 

Master the art of listening.

We all know the power of words. But; we can’t deny the fact that we only know the power of spoken words and not listened words. Listening has been always the unsung hero of communication.

Doug Larson [ famous columnist and editor] said it right. “ Wisdom is the reward you get for a lifetime of listening when you would have preferred to talk.” We always tend to listen carefully with the purpose to give back a reply. Rather we should listen with an attitude to get knowledge.  Try to listen with an intention to understand and not to reply. 

Help others, Practice kindness.

Helping each other and practicing kindness are the basic needs of humanity. Kindness to every form of life is the skill that humans need to acquire. 

Be there to lend a helping hand to everyone. The earth is round, the good you will do to others will come back to you. This is what karma is. Whether good or bad your karma will, return to you in any form.
